We made it home spending 3 days in Albany with a broken slide, 3rd time. Spent one night at Seven Feathers casino RV park. Did a day trip to Applegate reservoir which is almost on the California border and very picturesque with the snow covered Trinity mountains just to the south. We went over to the coast just north of Crescent City and spent one night near Bandon. Then home.
So, the shake down trip exceeded expectations – broken slide, the key sets to the front door came out, bathroom door wouldn’t shut, the main power cord has a blister and can only use battery power, overhead vent leaks on the bed, and several other problems of lesser degree.
Once home, we fixed what we could in the trailer, got yard work done, worked out a deal with the mail man, and arranged with a local friend for yard work, made an appointment for our RV repair guy, then took off again. This time heading for Denver, after a couple hour stop for fixing the RV.
Briefly. After about $400 and 2.hours, we got EVERYTHING fixed and more. New MaxAir vents go over existing vents. Hopefully, no more leaks
We spent night one in Boardman on the Columbia River. Great place to stay and relax. Last night we made it to Boise and about 50 miles west of here we got into the heaviest rain we have ever experienced – this on I-84. Visibility was almost zero and still trucks trucks trucks. You get the picture. First stop after that we had to check inside for leaks. None! Yeah!
