Smoking Pig

Actually the “before” is missing as I couldn’t wait – was too hungry. This was from the Smoking Pig, a very traditional southern BBQ place just outside of Savannah – as evidenced by their smoke site along side the restaurant.  We had ribs, pulled pork, brisket,  with baked beans and Brunswick stew.  The food was better than the reviews – which were all 5 stars.

For breakfast we went to the Waffle House. I think our bodies have sustained enough damage in the last couple weeks that we need to head west and north and try and find some vegetables.

Since Mathew they have been invaded by mosquitos here and we spend little time outside. Nevertheless, it is an interesting place – very old.

We spent 2 days here AND tomorrow we actually are finally turning for home, going west to Columbus GA.  After that I don’t know but it will not be east.

It’s very strange traveling now without Adam. For those who haven’t heard, he passed in the night a few days ago. He was a great little dog.

I think there will not be too much to report as we will probably be on freeways and racking up miles now. It looks like everywhere we are headed will be warm – mid to high 80s, but we figure once in Denver – snow will fall.
